My eyes are burning but I don't want to close up this browser till my blog behaves.
Things coming up:
The boy's birthday. He claims 29 is old.
Ani! Sept... 19th? :)
Cheech and Chong's "Hey, What's That Smell?" tour. :)
Coldplay.
Noah's first birthday! :)
Halloween! I need to decide whether to dress Izzy up or not. Seems kinda silly, since she can't eat the candy she'd get. But I'd look back at pictures from this year, many moons from now, and wonder why I didn't have a little LadyBug in the house.
Attempting to save an account of my journey into Judaism, my desire to home school my children and all the little crumbs in between.

Has it really been that long?
Or... "I need to make blogger.com my homepage."
Izzy is now 13 months old. Her birthday seemed to come and go without giving me a chance to really be at peace with the whole idea. I think I'm still in denial. She's walking and running and saying "nigh-night" and "pretty!" and I still can't get my head around her being out of my womb for more than a year already. Nuts.
We have a dog now. His name is Pullo but we often just say "Dummy" because he is NOT a brilliant creature. He's scraped the holy hell out of his poor nose, trying to get out of his crate. And he doesn't know how to play and won't run out in the grass to pee after a full night in the house. What dog doesn't love to run outside and pee first thing in the morning??? Oh well. He's sweet as Dublin Dr Pepper and loves to go for walks so we're just gonna have to put up with him for the next 12 years or so. ;)
Obama is officially OFFICIALLY the Dem. candidate for President. I'm so excited I could pee! I just know he can help this country do great things for itself and the world at large.
McCain has picked Sarah Palin, gov. of Alaska to be his running mate. As Rush Limbaugh so eloquently put it, they have 'the babe'. Because that's what every intelligent voter looks for in a VP, potential Prez, candidate. What does this choice mean? Either that McCain sucks at Eeny Meeny or he honestly thinks the public is stupid. And maybe a good portion of the voting populace is. Maybe. But then that just makes him a liar, for all the times he's accused his supporters of being too smart to vote for anyone else.

6 Month Izzy
Six months has gone by so quickly! I remember every month of pregnancy seeming to take forever and then, suddenly, she was a week away. And then she was here! And now she's three times heavier than when she was born. WTH. I miss my tiny baby!
She's so much fun, though. Lots of spitting and giggling and babbling and now hand-clapping. She likes to clap my hands to get a different sound, sometimes.
I love when Chad gets home and she goes bananas for him. She's always SO excited to see him and just loves to play with him. She's definitely gonna be a Daddy's Girl.
We took her to a Tornado game last weekend. NOT on her list of Favorite Things To Do With Mommy and Daddy. She cried every time we tried to sit down with her, after the first goal. She's gonna have to learn to like hockey, though, because we need to go to games.

It's been a while
Izzy is 6 months old. Hooray! I should blog/journal more about her but I find myself thinking I don't have the time.
She's sitting up with help and likes to dive headfirst towards toys. We bought her a Jumperoo because she loved using her cousin's a couple of weeks ago and that thing has been AWESOME. She's happy for as long as I'm willing to leave her in it but I try to keep it to less than 30 minutes at a time. I don't want her to be so into jumping that she never wants to crawl. I know crawling isn't the most important development but I do think it's something she needs to do.
I started giving her cereal at 4 months and would give it to her every couple of days. I didn't want to push it if she wasn't really needing it. I started veggies and the occasional fruit about a month ago and she loves everything. So far, anyway. Peas seem to give her gas so I guess I'll hold off on them for a while. It's a shame. I really liked that she loves peas as much as I do.
She babbles constantly. It's a lot of 'dadadada' and 'mamamama' and 'EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEtttttthhhhhhhhpt!' but when she gets sleepy and I'm walking around with her, she whispers to herself. I have a feeling she really is talking about something because her noises are all over the place and she'll stop and giggle.
She's just over 17 pounds... only gained about 1.25 pounds in two months so she's definitely slowed down. She's tall, though. 95th percentile! I bet she'll be lanky like Ben... :)

Rolling baby!
Izzy's known for about a week and a half how to roll over onto her side. Initially, it freaked her out and she would cry. Then she realized it wasn't so bad... until she made it all the way over to her back. THEN she would really cry. Especially if she did it in her sleep and woke up all 'turtled.'
This morning, she's been rolling from her back to her side and I think she kinda likes it. At least she's closer to being 'safe' and tummied again.
Won't be long till she crawls.

Peanut Update
It's a little late in the game to still be calling her Peanut. I tend not to call her that to her face, though, so I guess it's ok. She's much larger than a peanut, of course. Close to 13 pounds and not even three months old yet. Breast really IS best! heh.
I should know better than to try to blog about her. Every time I mention her to someone while she's sleeping, she wakes up.
Silly mama...
